  • Technology Grants for Rural Schools

Don't forget to tell your local schools about FRED's Technology Grants for Rural Schools Program. The grants are available to schools who wish to update their technology and introduce new teaching methods to enhance the learning process.

The grants, sponsored by the Rural Telephone Finance Cooperative (RTFC), range from $1,000 to $10,000. Thanks to the generous sponsorship of RTFC, $50,000 is available to rural schools this year.

Help your community by letting local schools know about the program. See the link below. The 2010 application deadline is September 17, 2010.

    FRED Awards Three Ethyl Grants

The Ethyl Grant Committee met recently to select three Ethyl Grant recipients to receive a total of $7,500 in funding.

Projects sponsored by Panhandle Telephone Cooperative, Park Region Telephone/OtterTail TelCom, and Pierce Telephone were all selected to receive grants.

The Ethyl Grant program was created to help improve OPASTCO member communities. The grants range from $250 to $2,500 and are sponsored by Ericsson and Bennet & Bennet, PLLC. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis year-round. Send in your application today for consideration in the next round of the review process in the fall.
