| FRED Technology Grants Awarded |

In 2009, thanks to RTFC's generous contribution,
FRED awarded $50,000 in grants to 8 schools in rural
areas. Congratulations to the 2009 Technology Grants
for Rural Schools recipients and their nominating
telcos.

| Scholarship Applications Now Available |
|
|
Applications for the 2010 Scholarship program are
now available. The deadline is February 8, 2010.
Telco and associate members of OPASTCO are
eligible to nominate students. $72,500 has been
earmarked for awards in 2010.

| Annual Giving Campaign Kicks Off |
|
|
Help FRED support rural students by donating to the
Annual Giving Campaign. This year, proceeds will go
to the scholarship and Leadership Through Learning
programs. Information was mailed last month but can
also be accessed by
clicking here.
Remember FRED in your end-of-year charitable giving
and help us reach
our goal of raising $20,000 for youth programs in
2010.

| Leadership Through Learning Program: Deadline Approaching |

The deadline to apply for FRED's LTL program is
December 11, 2009. Applications will be accepted via
mail or through the on-line form here.

| FRED & OPASTCO Moving January 1, 2010 |
|
|
After December 31, 2009, the FRED and OPASTCO
offices will have a new address. Fax and phone
numbers will remain the same. Please be sure to
mail all program applications, donations and
correspondence to the new address starting
January 1, 2010.

| FRED Newsletter Changes Name |

Starting this month, FRED's online newsletter will be
changed to FRED Focus Online. The online
newsletter will supplement the printed version of the
publication that is mailed twice per year. Timely news
and information is shared through the online
newsletter while the printed version of the publication
will reflect more in depth articles about the
Foundation. Watch
your e-mail box for the FRED Focus Online
every
month and also be on the lookout for the FRED
Focus
newsletter in the mail in February and August.

FRED's Clambake-on-the-beach Party |

the-Beach fundraiser at the OPASTCO winter
convention in San Diego. Tickets are $150 for adults
and $100 for children, and include live music,
traditional clambake favorites, surf and turf
